Tax Day is almost here! Find out if you are eligible to file your taxes for free with Direct File.
Direct File is a new free tax filing tool that allows you to file your taxes directly with the IRS. Direct File is a groundbreaking new service that allows taxpayers to file their taxes quickly (the first user completed the process in less than one hour!), safely, and for free. This year, the IRS is piloting Direct File in 12 states, including California. It’s estimated that the pilot program could save filers an average of at least $150 and 9 hours each tax filing season.
